We would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake which occurred on July 28.
Although registration fees (both registration and banquet fees) for NEURO2026 are generally non-refundable, as an exceptional measure for those affected by the earthquake, we will refund the paid registration fees.
If you wish to request a refund, please follow the procedure outlined below.
Those who fall under either of the following categories are eligible for a refund:
〇 Category A: Presenters (For those meeting all three conditions below and requesting a refund.)
・Those who were unable to attend the meeting venue in Kobe due to the impact of the Kumamoto Earthquake on July 28.
・For those who have a registered abstract as a first author, those who have not presented their paper via online presentation, pre-recorded video presentation, proxy presentation by a co-author, poster exhibition, or other methods.
・Those who withdraw their registered abstract as a first author.
〇 Category C: Non-presenting participants (Including co-authors; for those meeting the following conditions and requesting a refund)
・General participants without presentations (including co-authors) who were unable to attend the venue due to the impact of the Kumamoto Earthquake on July 28.
*Note regarding Category B: If you were unable to come to the venue but wish to keep your presentation record (Category B), you cannot receive a refund for your registration fee, but as an exceptional measure, your abstract can remain published on the Meeting Planner. For details, please check the "Treatment of Registered Abstracts" section below.
A. Requesting a refund without presenting (Category A)
If you cancel your participation without presenting, your abstract will also be treated as withdrawn. The abstract will be removed (deleted) from the abstract search system "Meeting Planner".
B. Maintaining abstract publication (Category B)
Even in cases where you were unable to present at the venue due to the impact of the Kumamoto Earthquake, we will exceptionally allow your presentation record to remain valid through abstract publication on "Meeting Planner". Please note that if the abstract remains published, the registration fee cannot be refunded.
Those who were unable to attend the venue due to the impact of the Kumamoto Earthquake on July 28 will receive a full refund of their banquet fee.
(For those who select Category B and were unable to attend the banquet, the banquet fee only is also eligible for a refund.)
Due to conference accounting requirements, please complete your application (and contact from your institution) by August 19, 2026 (JST).
Please note that applications submitted after this deadline cannot be accepted under any circumstances.
Please declare that you meet the refund requirements, and provide both your institution's address and your residential address in the application form.
Refund eligibility will be determined by the executive committee based on a review of your institution, address, and reason for application.
